File with Claude in your browser
You don't need to know anything technical. If you can use WhatsApp, you can do this. Total setup: about 3 minutes, on a phone or a computer.
- 1Open Claude (free)
Go to claude.ai in any browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge). Sign up free with your Google account or email. A free account is enough to file your return.
- 2Check one privacy setting (10 seconds)
Click your name (bottom-left) → Settings → Privacy. If you see an option about using your chats to improve models, you can turn it off if you prefer your tax documents stay private to your chat. Then come back.
- 3Start a new chat and paste your starter message
After you buy a plan, we send you — on WhatsApp and email — a starter message with your private key inside it. Open a new chat in Claude, paste the whole message, and send it. That's it — your assistant wakes up and greets you.
- 4Follow along, one step at a time
The assistant asks for your details and documents (you just attach files in the chat — like attaching a photo in WhatsApp), checks everything, computes your tax both ways, and walks you through the government portal screen by screen — right up to e-verify.
Good to know
- You stay in control. You log in to the tax portal yourself and you press "submit" yourself. We never ask for your portal password.
- Your documents stay in your chat. They are read inside your own Claude account — they never sit on our servers.
- Run out of free messages? No problem — nothing is lost. Your chat stays saved in Claude, so just reopen that same chat once your limit resets and carry on from where you left off. (A detailed guide uses a free account's limit faster than an ordinary chat, so it helps to start with your documents ready.)
- Stuck on a portal screen? Take a screenshot and attach it in the chat. The assistant reads it and tells you exactly what to do.
